Road Quad Cargo Carrier

The Road Quad is a 10-wheel armoured vehicle designed for carrying cargo over long distances. Launched by Green Industries in 2073, it proved unpopular with most truckers as it has no offensive weaponry. It was still manufactured in limited numbers by 2075, but phased out very soon afterwards.

The Road Quad has an unladen weight of 13,760 lbs, a 19-foot cargo bay (1300 cubic feet total), and a cab with seating for four.

The main cargo bay behind the cab has a maximum capacity of just over 30,000 lbs, loaded through full-width rear doors. Cab and cargo bay are connected by a sliding door, allowing the passengers to access the cargo while the vehicle is in motion.

An innovative design element is the incorporation of roof-mounted solar panels, allowing the Road Quad to recharge its power cells on the move (weather permitting). This can extend the vehicle's range by up to double, giving a daily driving distance of up too 600 miles at cruise speed, a distance unmatched by any other vehicle in its class. The power can also be used to charge vehicles in the cargo bay while in motion: the cargo bay is sized to carry any vehicle with a mid-sized, compact, or subcompact frame.

The Road Quad retails for $52,700 in 2075 dollars.
