The Phoenix museum is one of the largest and well-respected public museums in America. There are extensive permanent collections of historical artefacts, with a special emphasis on early American and meso-American culture.


The museum was established in the 1930s with charitable grants from numerous wealthy philanthropists, notably movie mogul Hugh Howard.
