Brighter Media Group
Overview
Brighter Media Group is a major publishing and broadcasting conglomerate based in North America.
History
Brighter Media Group was founded by renowned photo-journalist and author Jonathan Brighter in 1994. Initially a small news magazine publisher, entirely owned and managed by Brighter, BMG expanded in 2002 with the acquistion of the failing Los Angeles Globe newspaper. The acquisition was funded almost entirely by Brighter's personal fortune, and he installed his wife, Penelope Lane-Brighter as the managing editor. Thanks entirely to Lane-Brighter's efforts, the paper was soon turning a substantial profit, allowing BMG to raise the funds to buy up several other media businesses. Brighter's financial acumen ensured that all the acquisitions were sound investments, and the Group continued to grow in turnover and profit.
