The Vancouver Sentinel

Overview

The Sentinel is a major metropolitan newspaper, based in the city of Vancouver, Canada.

History

The Sentinel was founded in 1931. The Sentinel's offices were originally in a rented building in downtown Vancouver. In the 1960s, the paper's owners built a 35-storey office block, the Sentinel Building, which housed the Sentinel's offices as well as those of other businesses.

The Sentinel ceased publication in 1997 due to continuing financial difficulties stemming from the general downturn in newspaper sales.
